Covidien has a long history in the field of Nuclear Medicine in general and Nuclear Cardiology in particular. Being one of the first suppliers of Thallium 201 our continuing commitment to diagnostic cardiology can be seen in other products like I123-mIBG and a pan European marketing authorisation for the cardiac indication of 18FDG. Increased funding for R&D and a commitment to drive Nuclear Medicine and Nuclear Cardiology to new heights has been-, and will keep benefiting the Nuclear Medicine community. The work on new agents and labelled compounds for Nuclear Cardiology is one of the focus points of our research and development group. DDD-Diagnostic was established in 1987 as a company that develops, manufactures and markets gamma cameras for nuclear medicine. The cameras are used for scanning heart, kidney and cancer patients. The cameras are among other places used by privately practicing cardiologists and hospitals in connection with the diagnosis of cardiopulmonary diseases.
The gamma cameras are primarily marketed in the USA through major companies that distribute the products under their own brand.
Since it’s foundation, DDD-Diagnostic has brought innovation to the field of nuclear medicine, with the development of the first and second generation of dedicated cardiac camera for private cardiology practices as well as the world’s first dedicated gamma camera for brain scans.
